lmdtitle_web1.pngAgain (I know, I know... we seem to be on overdrive at the moment...) here we are again with another show, just before the Christmas season!

This time we have, as a very special guest, Michael Fox, of the Little Metal Dog Show fame and game designer virtuoso (you may  not know that because you haven't played his game (perhaps!) but I have and they're awesome) who has very kindly joined Mark and I to add a touch of class to the show.

cardiff-arcades-project-o-006.jpgWe have a big rant. We don't like trolls. We don't like the trolls that haunt the Boardgame Geek website and we are giving a piece of our minds in this show.

We also give you our recommendations for what to buy for Christmas if you're on a budget, and also if you are not.

Mark talks to the amazing guys at Rules of Play in Cardiff and last, but not least, we tell you what we'll be playing during the holidays.

What will you be playing?

Mistborn_Adventure_Game_Logo.jpgWe're nearly there for the Christmas season and we are hard at work to bring you three podcasts before we go away!

This one is a long-ish interview with the mighty Patrick Kapera and the no-less-mighty Alex Flagg about the super-mighty Misborn Adventure, the game based on Brandon Sanderson's acclaimed novels.

crafty-games.jpgWe talk about the origins of the game, the relationship with the author, the mechanics, magic system, releases... anything you can think of.

Now, a question for you... when is gathering information for your game character meta-gaming?

S2PCFG07001_500.jpgDale and I talk about when looking for information so your character can use it in-game is a legitimate thing to do, and when it becomes a cheater's tool that could spoil the fun for everyone and make the GM's life a misery!

And there is a plea for help. We need to find people for our forthcoming shows and we need your help.

Hope you enjoy the show!

Paco.

kickstarter.jpgKickstarter is changing the way things work and how things come out into the market. Times are indeed very exciting for anyone who has a project and the self belief to make the effort to bring it out.

However not everyone think that way and some people are sceptical about Kickstarter and its methods.

So I decided to have around for an interview Richard Bliss, also known in the Twitterverse as GameWhisperer to ask him a few questions.

richard_bliss.jpgRichard has become the most knowledgeable source of information about the games side of Kickstarter. With many years experience in the marketing business, Richard has placed himself in a position of knowledge when is about the past, present and future of Kickstarter and, as a very nice guy that he is, is more than happy to share that knowledge as you’ll find out in the interview.

Mark and I tell you about the games we’ve been playing recently. Panic Station, Therion 011 and Flash Point among others.

Hope you enjoy the show and remember we’re always open and welcome your questions and your comments. Email us at podcast@gmsmagazine.com.

All the best!

Paco.

dragonmeet.jpgEvery year we get to go to Dragonmeet in London.

Organised by Cubicle 7 and run by an amazing gang of volunteers, it is a one day convention where traders, publishers and gamers get together.

TPelgrane-Press-Ltd.pnghis year I tried to record the talks from Ian Livingstone, Cubicle 7, ndie publishers and Pelgrane Press, but, I am shamed to say my recorder failed me, or the memory card did, and all the files have been corrupted.

SBG-Albion.jpgThank goodness I had another recorder (always be prepared, right?) and some interviews with Leisure Games, Post Mortem Studios, Pelgrane Press and Tin Man Games.

cubicle-7-logo-300x244.jpgDale and I also talk about what's hot in the industry and what's hot in the Christmas lists this year.

And there is another giveaway. If you want to enter the competition, just leave feedback about this podcast in iTunes and you will be entered in all draws until we run out of games to give away. So yes, you could win more than one thing!

Feedback, as always, very welcome and we look forward to hearing from you, so please email us at podcast@gmsmagazine.com!
