stacks_image_96.pngAnd, as promised, here is the second part of the interview with Graeme Davis.

In this episode I have Jenn with me, which is great because she just launched her first Kickstarter project and we talk about that.

But first things first.

Graeme talks, in depth, about his passion for Colonial Gothic and the reasons that brought him into it. His cooperation with Richard Iorio has been pivotal in developing a setting and world that is seriously stunning. If you’re looking for a historical based alternative to Call of Cthulhu, this is exactly what you’re looking for.

And Jenn’s project sounds amazing!

Project Ninja Panda TacoProject Ninja Panda Taco is now ready to be backed in Kickstarter. Ever wanted to have a minion and take over the world? Now is your chance!

A GM-less game that places the emphasis on fun and quick play than tons of rules. Lots and lots of great artwork and so many great professionals involved in this project that I am properly looking forward to seeing it published!

So please, head onto Kickstarter now and help Jenn make her first project a reality!

The-Enemy-Within-Box-Art.pngWelcome back everyone to the podcast. Just to make things confusing, this is the first part of episode 46, but it’s coming out after episode 47. A glitch in Mathematics, what can I say? Maybe it’s not such an exact science as they claim!

Stop looking at me like that! And stop laughing!

In this first part, I have Dale with me. I was hoping to have Vickey as well, but we got the time-zones wrong. With *we* I mean me. I wish the planet were flat!

regime_diabolique.jpgIn this episode you will find the first part of the interview I had with Graeme Davis. Graeme, as well as being a nice guy, it’s a fantastic writer to boot. His imagination and good writing brought us The Enemy Within a long time ago, for Warhammer Fantasy, and now he’s working on the sequel to that great adventure. So I had the chance to ask what can we expect from it, and I think the answer will surprise you. Gladly!

Dale and I talk and review Victoriana, a game I have read recently and that I found a lot more interesting than I was expecting!

Dale, on the other hand, has been reading Regime Diabolique, and it sounds like a great swashbuckling game worth taking a look at!

The second part, with Jenn, will come very, very soon, but in the meantime, if you’d like to get in touch with us, please send us an email to podcast@gmsmagazine.com or follow us on Twitter @gmsmagazine.

pic1260824_md.jpgSometimes life conspires against you and the things you normally do, you can’t do them normally because life has got in the way. However that doesn’t mean that what you do in a different way is any worse. In fact, it can be just as good!

I am not making any sense. I know. Just keep reading.

Mark is mighty busy. Lorien is on holidays (vacation, if you will) and unable to make it for this episode, and I have got the number wrong (again!), so it’s yet another weird one and I don’t have my podcasting pals around. But I have an awesome interview. The options are either to talk to the microphone for a while and have you slashing your wrists in boredom, or bring someone else that might be interesting to listen to.

Enter, Dr. Mike Reddy. This very tall man is as nice and knowledgeable about pretty much anything as he’s tall. I wouldn’t mention how tall he is if he weren’t very tall. That should give you an idea of how nice and knowledgeable he is.

Oh. It doesn’t? Well, you’ll have to listen to the podcast to find out then. Incredulous human!

Anyway. Dr. Reddy, teaches game design. This is good because it means that (at last!) I have someone co-hosting the podcast that I can’t argue with. At least not a lot. And he has a lovely voice. Very velvety. Like Richard Attenborough but sounding very different.

Oh, shut up! You’ll find out when you listen.

The interview is with Mike Andreasakis. A very nice guy who has come up with a really, really strange, intriguing and, by the looks of it, fun game about chemistry. But chemistry in the wrong way, which is why that game is called Wrong Chemistry. It is in Kickstarter at the moment and it seems the type of wacky game that would be fun just because it is so wacky. And it is rather cheap as well to back, so you’re late if you haven’t backed it already. Or if the Kickstarter campaign has finished by the time you read/listen to this.

Anyway. We also have some feedback from a listener and some really fun stuff we talk about because, you know, we are fun. That means you can send us some feedback too and you can either leave a message or send us an email at podcast@gmsmagazine.com.

Very much looking forward to hearing from you. And you!

WeCanBeHeroesPreview.jpgWelcome once again to the podcast! We’re getting close to 50!

In this episode, Jenn, Vickey, Dale and myself discuss what have games done for us and our lives, and also what do we think games can contribute to someone’s life. A very meaty subject that made the podcast be a bit longer than we would like, but hopefully you’ll find it insightful.

It was also my pleasure to have Scott F. Gray back in the show. As always, it was a pleasure talking to him, and it was indeed a pleasure to read his book, We Can Be Heroes. We talk about the book and its contents at length, though there are no spoilers, so don’t you worry.

The novel is not about games, but about gamers and their relationship at a time when they have to confront mercenaries, weapons, make new friends and all sorts of really cool action. I really liked the novel and you can read my review here, so hope this interview will give you all the excuses you need to buy this book.

As always your comments are appreciated and most welcome and remember you can now leave a voice mail if click on the “Send Voicemail” tab to the right of the screen on our main website. You can also reach us by writing an email to podcast@gmsmagazine.com. All emails are replied to, so don’t be shy!

Hope you enjoy the show!
